TypeWell Transcription Services
We provide TypeWell transcription services in classrooms, businesses, hospitals, or anywhere speech-to-text services are desired. Our TypeWell meaning-for-meaning transcribers preserve the speaker’s intended message in fewer words than a verbatim service, which makes for a clean, easy to read transcript by eliminating false starts, repetition, and filler words such as “um” and “like”. Meaning-for-meaning transcription reflects emphasis, meaningful pauses, and body language—all keys to optimal reader comprehension that are not found in a verbatim transcript. More information on meaning-for-meaning transcription can be found here.
As we transcribe real-time, the words are instantly displayed on a PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone in front of the user. An unlimited amount of people can view the real-time transcript, making it a great option for an audience of any size. The user(s) then receive the refined transcript via email within 12 hours.
This service can be provided onsite or remotely, depending on the user’s preference. We provide all of the equipment necessary, although some users choose to view the real-time transcript discreetly on their own device.

- Edited: The transcript will be edited to improve grammar and readability.
While captioning has traditionally been used for the deaf or hard of hearing, it is also useful for English as a Second Language (ESL) speakers, those with learning disabilities, war veterans, textual learners, people who have trouble concentrating, and many others.
Captioning a video on your personal or business website will not only make your video accessible to a larger audience, but will also add to your searchable text, increasing your likelihood of being found through search engines.
We have a team of transcribers that are trained and experienced in closed captioning for many different mediums, including YouTube captioning and a variety of video files. We follow the Captioning Key created by the Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP) and have completed Post Production or Offline Captions training through pepnet2. We understand the importance of adhering to captioning guidelines, which includes proper line breaking, timecoding, font, speaker identifiers, and more.
You may have noticed that YouTube has an automatic captioning capability. However, the inaccuracy of automatic captioning makes it unsuitable for many readers. For this reason, using YouTube’s automatic captioning does not adhere to communication access guidelines. Our team of transcribers manually captions each video request to personally ensure our clients are receiving proper video captioning.
